LG Therma V Air Source Heat Pump Range
The LG Therma V range uses renewable technologies and energy from the air outside to heat your home and give you hot water. LG says that its air source heat pumps are approximately up to four times more energy efficient than boilers and use up to 75% natural energy and only 25% electricity, helping you to reduce carbon emissions and your home heating costs.
All four models in the range are air-to-water heat pump systems and ideal for renovations and new builds. No matter which model you choose, your LG Therma V heat pump will run smoothly without any errors, even when it’s freezing outside.

LG Therma V Split Low Temperature Air-to-Water Heat Pump
Boasting a sleek design and touchscreen display, the Therma V Split Low Temperature consists of an outdoor unit and a separate indoor unit. It comes complete with a colour LCD display and a reactive touch LED panel and has a Seasonal Auto Mode that automatically adjusts heating operation and hot water based on the outdoor temperature. This air source heat pump also features LG Inverter Technology, which reduces energy costs by optimising performance and using the right amount of power needed to operate effectively.
LG Therma V Split High Temperature Air-to-Water Heat Pump
The Therma V Split High Temperature air-to-water heat pump is made up of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit and is recommended for homes that are poorly insulated or have existing old radiators. Cascade technology ensures the system produces hot water temperatures up to 80°C and Weather Dependent Operation allows the heat pump to automatically increase heating capacity when the outdoor temperature decreases.
LG Therma V R32 Monobloc Air-to-Water Heat Pump
Unlike the previous two models, the Therma V Monobloc is an all-in-one heating solution that uses the R32 refrigerant, which has been developed to reduce the impact of hydrocarbons on the environment. This air source heat pump from LG can operate in extremely cold weather, such as -25°C, and is equipped with the Revolutionary Scroll Compressor to boost overall reliability and efficiency. What’s more, the Therma V R32 Monobloc has an ErP rating of A+++ and is easy to install because the unit consists of only three main components.
LG Therma V R32 Hydrosplit Air-to-Water Heat Pump
Another model that consists of an outdoor unit and an indoor unit is the Therma V R32 Hydrosplit, but this model still saves space and is easy to install because the units are connected through a single water pipe. It’s equipped with the environmentally friendly R32 refrigerant and a Revolutionary R1 Compressor and can operate in extreme weather as low as -25°C. The system also has a Seasonal Auto Mode that automatically determines desired temperatures and can control the temperature in two separate zones through independent heating circuits.
How much do LG Air Source Heat Pumps Cost?
It’s hard to know for sure how much an LG Therma V air-to-water heat pump will set you back as the overall cost depends on which model and size you need and the company you use to carry out the installation. Typical prices range between £3,255 and £5,900 including VAT but remember these figures do not include the installation cost. Why Choose a LG Air Source Heat Pump?
Lower Energy Bills
LG air source heat pumps create 4 times the energy they use, making them around 4 times more efficient than your traditional boiler. By producing energy more efficiently and cost-effectively, you can save money on your energy bills.
Carbon Footprint Friendly
As previously stated, LG Therma V air source heat pumps are powered by 75% natural energy extracted from natural air. And since they use just 25% electricity, they produce only a fraction of the harmful emissions created by traditional boiler systems, helping you to lower your carbon footprint and reduce your environmental impact on the planet.
Earn Money through the RHI Scheme
Otherwise known as the Renewable Heat Incentive, the RHI scheme was set up by the UK government and offers financial rewards to people who invest in renewable heat technologies, such as air source heat pumps. However, your product must be MCS certified and installed by an MCS accredited installer to be eligible for RHI payments. It’s worth pointing out that the Clean Heat Grant is replacing the RHI scheme when it ends in March 2022.
7-Year Warranty from LG
All LG air source heat pumps come with a standard warranty of 3 years, but you can get an extended warranty of 7 years if your system is installed by a company that has attended and passed the LG Therma V technical product training course.
Emergency Operation Feature
While LG Therma V air source heat pumps are generally reliable and have a longer lifespan than boilers, they can still develop faults over time. When a problem occurs, the Emergency Operation feature ensures you have non-stop heating by continuing ongoing heat production until an engineer has diagnosed and fixed your air source heat pump issue.
