Alpha Gas Boilers Prices

Alpha Boilers Prices range between £590 and £3,860, excluding the cost of installation

Recognised throughout the UK as a leading light in the heating industry, Alpha has over 50 years of experience in putting customers’ needs first. Alpha manufactures a small range of gas combi, system and regular boilers, as well as a selection of heating controls and accessories to allow you to manage temperatures and your heating system. The company is part of the Immergas Group, which is the market leader in its home country of Italy and has produced over 7 million boilers for homes all over the world.

Alpha Combi Boilers Price Range – Ideal for the Average Family

Not only are Alpha combi boilers the most energy efficient option but they are the most popular choice for families with smaller homes. Like all combination boilers, Alpha combi boilers are space-saving units that provide both heating and hot water on demand without the need for any tanks or cylinders. This means that Alpha combi boilers are a great choice for homes with limited space. The brand offers three combi boiler models in a small variety of outputs and you can expect to pay between £590 and £950, depending on the model and size of boiler you require.

The Alpha combi boiler range includes the following model and output options:

COMBI GAS BOILER SERIESSIZESSIZE OF HOMEPRICE
Alpha E-Tec Combi28 – 33kWSmall to medium-sized homes with one bathroom.£590 – £738
Alpha Evoke Combi28 – 33kWSmall to medium-sized homes with one bathroom.£630 – £690
Alpha E-Tec Plus Combi28 – 38kWSmall to medium-sized homes with one bathroom.£870 – £996

Alpha System Boilers Price Range – Suited to Homes with High Hot Water Demand

The only downside to alpha system boilers is they require a storage cylinder to provide heating and hot water but on they will be able to cope with high hot water demand, making them a great choice for homes with more than one bathroom. Most people store their storage cylinder in an airing cupboard, so you will need to have enough space in your home for a cylinder if you want to install a system boiler from Alpha. There are currently only two system boilers available in the range, with prices ranging from £825 to £3,860.

All Alpha system boilers are easy to install and come with a range of outputs, including the following options:

Alpha E-Tec S System20 – 35kWSmall, medium and large-sized homes with multiple bathrooms.£825 – £945

Alpha Regular Boilers Price Range – Perfect for Large Homes with a Traditional System

Otherwise known as conventional or heat-only boilers, regular boilers are suitable for homes that already have a traditional heating and hot water system in place as they need to be linked to a cold-water supply tank and a hot water storage tank. Regular boilers are commonly called ‘traditional’ systems because they were the first units designed for central heating. Alpha regular boilers are not only ideal for homes with a traditional system but they’re also a good choice for properties with multiple bathrooms and high hot water demand. If you’re unsure whether a regular boiler is right for your home, we recommend you ask a Gas Safe registered engineer what type and size of boiler will best fit your needs.

Available in outputs of 28kW or 33kW, Alpha regular boiler options and prices are as follows:

REGULAR GAS BOILER SERIESSIZESSIZE OF HOMEPRICE
Alpha E-Tec Regular15-25kWMedium to large-sized homes with multiple bathrooms.£709 – £809

Why Choose Alpha?

Alpha is known for manufacturing a decent range of budget-friendly boilers but many homeowners across the country say they have never even heard of the brand. Having said that, some UK homeowners have chosen to get an Alpha boiler installed and have rated the brand as ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot, which is pretty good going for a lesser-known boiler brand. The low cost is definitely a plus point, especially when you compare Alpha boilers to the big players like Vaillant, Viessmann or Worcester Bosch.

Competitive Price

If you’re looking for a value for money boiler, you shouldn’t overlook Alpha boilers. They are competitively priced units and a lot cheaper than many other boiler brands. This isn’t to say that they’re poorly made boilers, though. Alpha boilers feature a stainless steel heat exchanger, which makes them incredibly resistant to corrosion and helps to maximise boiler efficiency, reliability and longevity. Not all boiler manufacturers use stainless steel, even though stainless steel heat exchangers are better than aluminium alternatives.

Alpha Boiler Warranty

Some Alpha boilers come with a 10-year warranty as standard, such as the E-Tec Plus Combi, and some models come with either a 5 or 7-year warranty. The length of the warranty you receive will depend on which Alpha boiler model you choose. A boiler with a long warranty should give you peace of mind that you won’t have to pay for any repairs if the boiler breaks down, so it’s always wise to select a boiler model with a lengthy manufacturer warranty rather than a short one.

Which? Score

The overall Which? brand score for Alpha boilers is 45%, which isn’t horrendous but it’s not exactly great when you compare it to some of the popular brands. Alpha didn’t score top marks for anything and the brand only got two stars for engineer recommendation. If engineers aren’t recommending Alpha, that’s probably one of the main reasons why so many people in the UK haven’t heard of the brand.

Below, you can find the brand data results for Alpha gas boilers, which we sourced from the Which? website.

Alpha Boiler Problems and Repairs

Although some boilers never break down, you’re likely to encounter a problem with your Alpha boiler at some point or another. We all experience issues with our boilers from time to time, and it’s handy to know the most common causes of a faulty Alpha boiler and how you should go about getting your system fixed. To help you understand potential issues and their solution, we’ve put together a guide to the most Common Alpha Boiler Problems and Repairs and whether they are easily rectified or require a professional Gas Safe registered engineer.

Alpha Boiler Fault Codes

An Alpha boiler might show an error code when it develops a fault to inform you that something is wrong. The error codes make life easy for your engineer and allow them to diagnose faults and resolve problems fast. When you purchase an Alpha boiler, you get given a manual that includes a list of fault codes for your boiler. If you don’t have it or can’t find the instructions and your boiler is getting a fault code, you can use our guide to Alpha Boiler Fault Codes to find the cause of the error.

Alpha Boiler Cover

If you want to protect your Alpha boiler then getting it serviced annually is the best way to keep informed about its condition. Alpha offers its own service and maintenance package that provides you with access to expert help whenever you need it. Find out more about their service plan before you sign up by heading over to our service plan information page

Alpha Boiler Warranty

You always receive a manufacturer-backed warranty when choosing an Alpha boiler for your home. The length of the warranty period can be anything from 5 to 10 years, depending on the boiler type and model you select. To validate your Alpha warranty, you must get a Gas Safe registered engineer to install the boiler and register the appliance with Alpha Heating Innovation within 30 days of installation. If you want more information about the warranty terms and conditions, the registration process, and what the guarantee covers, check out our Alpha Boiler Warranty guide

Alpha Boiler Controls

If you decide to get an Alpha boiler installed, it’s worth looking at the range of optional controls you can purchase to make it easier for you to control your central heating system. The selection of boiler controls on offer from Alpha includes room thermostats, plug-in mechanical clocks, and even a programmable modulating boiler energy manager. To learn more about the options currently available, check out our guide to Alpha Boiler Controls, which explains how each product works and the benefits of using them.

Alpha Boiler Quotes

It’s wise to get a few quotes from different local and national installers, rather than just accepting the first quote you’re given. This way, you can compare quotes on your chosen boiler and find the best deal. Boiler installs can cost anything from £500, so remember to ask for a quote that includes VAT and the cost of installation as well. As you must only ever use a Gas Safe installer to fit your new gas boiler, you also need to check if your engineer is registered before agreeing to a quote and any fitting work.
