Potterton Assure Heat

The Potterton Assure Heat is a compact conventional boiler that weighs in at just 19.5kg and can be installed in a kitchen cupboard.

According to Potterton, the Assure Heat is the lightest boiler in the UK and is an ideal replacement for an old heat-only boiler. As it doesn’t need a pump overrun or permanent live, this boiler can save time on installation and therefore save you some cash. If you’re looking for a compact and energy efficient conventional boiler that can be hidden away in a kitchen unit, the Assure Heat could turn out to be a great solution for your home.

How Much Does this Boiler Cost?

Potterton has developed the Assure Heat to suit most properties and is offering five heating output options, which are 13kW, 16kW, 19kW, 25kW and 30kW. Prices range from £700 to £960 including VAT, depending on the required output. You may be able to save some money by shopping around and comparing prices from different suppliers and installers. And remember, you’ll also need to factor in the fitting costs so be sure to get quotes on both the boiler and installation.

How will I know if this Boiler is Suitable for My Home?

This is a heat only boiler, so you’ll need to already own or find space to put a hot water storage cylinder and cold water tank. Heat only boilers are fantastic for homes with more than one bathroom because they can provide a constant supply of hot water, regardless of how many taps are being used at the same time. Some manufacturers and engineers call these types of boilers ‘regular’ or ‘conventional’ boilers.

You’ll need to find out if a heat only boiler is a suitable option for your home before you purchase the Potterton Assure Heat. It’s best to contact a Gas Safe registered engineer who will be able to assess your heating and hot water requirements and help you choose the correct boiler type and heat output for your property.

Is it a High Efficiency Boiler?

The Assure Heat is Energy Saving Trust endorsed and has a SAP seasonal efficiency rating of 89.2%, so it’s an A-rated boiler that can help to reduce energy consumption and your fuel bills. It can be used with some optional controls and accessories as well, such as a Baxi room thermostat or a twin channel wired programmer that will help to enhance efficiency and your comfort levels.

Does this Boiler have a Good Range of Controls and Features?

This boiler doesn’t have a huge selection of controls but it does have an LED display, operating mode selector switch and an adjustable central heating temperature control. The Potterton Assure Heat allows your engineer front and side access to all components for hassle-free servicing and can be purchased with a range of flueing options (up to 12 metres) so that the boiler can be installed almost anywhere. It also comes with a top or rear central flue, along with a wall-mounting bracket with a positive fix and audible lock to keep the boiler secure.

How long is the Warranty on this Boiler?

If you purchase the Assure Heat by Potterton, you’ll receive a 2-year parts and labour warranty as standard. You must register the boiler within 30 days of installation and get it serviced every year to ensure the warranty is valid.
