Potterton Assure System

The Potterton Assure System is an energy efficient fully modulating boiler that requires a separate hot water storage cylinder.

Potterton’s Assure System is a gas condensing boiler that is designed to save you money on your fuel bills. It can be installed in a kitchen cupboard and is a great option for homes with limited or no loft space because it doesn’t need a cold water tank. The boiler is reasonably priced and comes in two heating outputs to suit different heating and hot water demands.

How Much Does this Boiler Cost?

Assure System prices vary according to the heat output and typically range between £790 and £805 including VAT. The boiler is available in only two heat outputs of 15kW and 18kW, which means you’ll need to find out which is the most suitable for your home and needs. Fitting costs also differ from one installer to the next, so you should shop around and compare boiler and installation prices to see if you can save yourself a bit of cash.

How will I know if this Boiler is Suitable for My Home?

The Potterton Assure System is what’s known as a ‘system’ boiler and, like all system boilers, will need a separate cylinder for storing hot water. Most people keep their cylinder in an airing cupboard. Systems boilers are easier to install because all of the components are built into the boiler. They also cope really well when a large number of taps are being used at the same time. Having said that, this boiler only comes in an output of 15kW or 18kW, so it isn’t suitable for larger properties with more than one bathroom.

If you’re interested in the Assure System and want to know if it will make a practical fit with your home, you’ll need to consult a Gas Safe registered engineer. A qualified heating engineer will be able to assess your property and demands to work out the correct boiler type and size (kW output).

Is it a High Efficiency Boiler?

Yes, it is. This boiler is A-rated and has a seasonal space heating energy efficiency rating of 93%, which is one of the highest ratings you’re likely to come across. It’s a fully modulating boiler that knows precisely how much fuel is required to meet demand and your set central heating temperature. Not only that but the boiler is Energy Saving Trust endorsed and can significantly reduce your fuel bills.

Does this Boiler have a Good Range of Controls and Features?

It doesn’t have the greatest selection of user controls but it does come with pretty much everything you would expect. For example, the Assure System features an LED status display, reset switch and adjustable central heating temperature control. This boiler can also be used with a wide range of optional controls including an outdoor weather sensor to enhance comfort, efficiency and performance. There’s a central flue for ease of siting and a built-in drip tray to protect the boiler against water ingress. Furthermore, you’ll be offered a choice of flueing options up to 20 metres to make siting more flexible.

How long is the Warranty on this Boiler?

You’ll get a 2-year parts and labour warranty when you choose the Potterton Assure System for your home. Just remember to register the boiler within 30 days of installation and have it serviced annually to keep the warranty valid.
