Glow Green: A Trusted Name in Boilers
Glow Green is a relatively newer player in the UK heating market. Founded in 2010, the company’s vision is to offer energy-efficient and reliable heating solutions to homeowners in the UK.
The company entered the market at a time when there was a growing demand for more efficient and eco-friendly heating options. Within a couple of years, Glow Green began to establish a reputation in the heating industry, gaining recognition for its focus on high-quality and efficient combi boilers.
Although not a boiler manufacturer in its own right, the company provide customers with an enviable line-up of products from leading manufacturers in the country. Among its big-name players are Worcestor-Bosch, Viessmann, Daikin and Vaillant.
Throughout its history, Glow Green has maintained a strong focus on eco-friendliness and sustainability. The company’s best-rated energy-efficient boilers are designed with eco-friendly features to minimise their environmental impact.
Glow Green has also earned a reputation for its excellent customer service and professional installation. Their team of certified engineers ensures that boilers are installed correctly and safely, providing customers with peace of mind.
According to the company’s website, its commitment to innovation has earned “several industry awards” for its installation service. We haven’t found any evidence of this online, so we can’t confirm whether the claim is true or not.
Considerations when buying a Glow Green Boiler
Glow Green is another emergent player in the boiler market that can potentially help UK homeowners invest in the right boiler. With a selection of the “top Which? rated boilers” on offer, the company’s customer-facing ‘Journey Team’ appears to be making the purchase process much simpler for customers.
When you’re buying a boiler, make a note of the following considerations.
Energy-Efficiency
All gas boilers are energy efficient these days. They are given an ErP rating from A to G. An A-rated boiler should save at least 92% of the energy it generates.
Glow Green boilers offer a selected range of boilers from leading brands that are A-rated. If you do contact Glow Green and speak with their customer service team, ask them what the ErP is on the boiler they recommend. The higher the better.
Dimensions
The amount of space you have available to install a boiler may determine the model you choose. Fortunately, most boilers on the UK market are compact enough to stow in a kitchen cupboard.
Also, bear in mind that system boilers and heat-only boilers need additional storage space for cylinders and water tanks. If you’re short on space, a combi boiler will be the best option because it provides all your heating needs from a single unit.
Performance Output in kW
The performance output of the boiler, measured in Kw (kilowatt) is crucial for ensuring it can meet your home’s heating demands. A boiler that’s too small may struggle to heat your home effectively, while one that’s too large could be inefficient.
Note that the performance (kW) output is higher for combi boilers than it is for system and heat-only boilers. Combi boilers typically start at 24kW which is the equivalent of a 9kW system or heat-only boiler. The lowest output will heat a one-bedroom apartment.
If you have three bedrooms and up to 15 radiators, look for a performance output of 27kW or above for a combi and 18kW or above for system and regular boilers. Larger homes will need 35-42kW in a combi or 27-40kW in a system or regular boilers.
The performance output figures given above should only be used as a rough guideline as various factors that are unique to your home may change your requirements; i.e. insulated walls and floors
Ease and Cost of Installation
Glow Green is known for its speedy response to boiler orders. You can expect to have a new boiler fitted in 2-5 days. This quick turnaround time is one of the key reasons UK homeowners choose Glow Green.
In terms of installation price, we can’t give you a precise figure, but Glow Green has published on its website that the average cost of installing a new energy-efficient boiler in the UK is between £500-£1500. If that’s correct, Glow Green could offer a more attractive price over its rivals.
One of the advantages Glow Green offers is the opportunity to get an instant quote online. Simply fill in the online questionnaire and see what comes out on the other end.
We would also recommend comparing Glow Green with local installers by using our ‘get a quote’ feature. Boiler Prices puts you in touch with local suppliers that can offer competitive pricing. It’s free to use with no obligation to buy.

Warranty
Gas boilers are backed by a parts and labour manufacturer warranty. The length gives you a good indication of how confident the manufacturer is about the quality and reliability of its technology.
Glow Green has partnered with some of the best in the business and offers a 5-year warranty as standard. Glow Care customers can extend the warranty to 12 years but it will set you back £7.99. This cost includes service and maintenance.

Glow Green Combi Boilers: Compact, Efficient, and Cost-Saving
Glow Green is a UK-based company known for its energy-efficient and reliable selection of combi boilers. High energy efficiency ratings can help UK homeowners shave several hundred pounds a year from their energy bills.
Because of their compact size and cost-saving technologies, combi boilers are the most popular among British households. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that they are not as efficient at maintaining a consistent flow of hot water as system and heat-only boilers.
Glow Green has teamed up with the most recognised brands in the UK market; Worcestor-Bosch, Viessmann, Daikin and Vaillant. Most of the models available are equipped with modulation technology, which allows the boiler to adjust its output based on the heating demand. This ensures that the boiler operates at the most efficient level, saving energy and reducing wear and tear.
Some boilers also come with user-friendly controls and smart home integration, making it easy for homeowners to conveniently adjust settings and control their heating and hot water from their smartphones or voice-activation devices. The intuitive controls provide convenience and flexibility for users.
For more information about the reliability, credibility and quality of the boiler brands Glow Green offers, we recommend visiting the relevant pages and reading our verdict for each brand. You can access the content by clicking the links: Worcestor-Bosch, Viessmann, Daikin and Vaillant.
Note: the prices listed below are the purchase prices for the boiler only. They do not include installation costs.

Glow Green System Boilers: Easy installation, efficient heating, and customisable options
For homeowners with space to install a water cylinder, a system boiler may be a good option. System boilers have all the same energy-efficient ratings, dimensions, features and controls as combi boilers but differ in performance.
System boilers work by heating water from the mains and storing it in a cylinder until it’s needed. You, therefore, have a steady supply of hot water ready to go at all times without any drop in temperature or pressure.
This means the shower won’t run cold or lose any flow power when someone else fills the kettle up. In addition, they have fewer moving parts so tend to be quieter than combi boilers.
Note: the prices listed below are the purchase prices for the boiler only. They do not include installation costs.

Glow Green Heat Only Boilers: Versatility, Efficiency, and Reliability
Heat-only boilers, also known as Regular boilers are probably the most well-known type of boiler but are steadily going out of fashion. This is due to their cumbersome nature.
These types of boilers require separate hot water and cold water tanks so are only suitable for houses or large apartments that have suitable storage space. The advantage of heat-only boilers is they can handle high hot water demands even when multiple taps are running at the same time.
Like system boilers, heat-only boilers can be compatible with renewable energy sources such as solar thermal panels. They can work alongside these systems to further reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions.
Note: the prices listed below are the purchase prices for the boiler only. They do not include installation costs.

Glow Green Boiler Warranties
Glow Green partners with leading boiler manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi and Daikin. The warranties on these boilers are typically 7-10 years as standard, but Glow Green only offers a five-year warranty as standard.
Warranties can be extended to 12 years if you sign up for the company’s Glow Care Service which gives you extra piece of mind for as little as £7.99. However, there is a sizeable list of terms and conditions.
Glow Green Boiler Controls
The boilers offered by Glow Green feature smart controls and a range of innovative controls and features designed to provide users with efficient and easy-to-use control over their heating and hot water systems.
The controls are aimed at enhancing comfort, convenience, and energy efficiency. Some boiler controls have weather compensation features, adjusting the boiler’s output based on the outside temperature to maintain consistent indoor comfort.
Glow Green Boiler Cover and Breakdown Options
Glow Green provides a service and maintenance breakdown cover called Glow Care which includes service, maintenance and replacement boilers. Prices start from £7.99 per month which includes the option to extend the warranty from five to 12 years.
Glow Green Boiler Surveys and Reviews
Customer review sites are like a treasure trove for finding authentic and reliable information about the quality of service and products a company provides.
In general, Glow Green customers have positive things to say about the company. They provide a fast, efficient and cost-effective service.
The majority are on Trustpilot where 72% of Glow Green customers have left glowing reviews a full five stars and an overall score of 4.3 out of 5. The consensus on Reviews is similar, with 78% of customers saying they would recommend the company and giving them an overall rating of 4.1 out of 5.
After reading many of the reviews, it’s clear that Glow Green offers competitive quotes and does everything possible to ensure a hassle-free boiler installation service from start to finish.
However, it’s not all plain sailing for the Bournemouth-based outfit. Trustpilot shows that 16% of customers gave a ‘Poor’ or ‘Bad’ rating. Complaints largely focus on the poor quality of installation with a sprinkling of poor-quality products.
In fairness, Glow Green does respond to bad reviews and actively seeks to rectify any problems. There is evidence of a three-star review being upgraded to five.
How do Glow Green boilers compare with other boiler Glow Greens?
Glow Green is not strictly a boiler manufacturer but an intermediary that sells boilers produced by recognised brands. But with Worcester Bosch, Vaillant and Viessmann boilers on offer, Glow Green is bringing their A-Game to the table.
In fairness, we can only compare Glow Green with other installation companies BOXT, Heatable, iHeat and Warmzilla.
Together with Heatable and BOXT, Glow Green is leading the UK boiler installation market. With a simple online process, Glow Green gives you the option of three boilers with a “fully-fitted” price. And the prices are exceptionally competitive.
Glow Green has certainly teamed up with some of the best boiler brands around so you should expect the boilers they offer to be reliable. However, all the other installation companies offer the same brands.
Where Glow Green beat the competition is the turnaround speed. Customers can expect installation to take place in as little as 48 hours from the moment you accept the quote. A more realistic timescale is 3 to 5 days which puts them on a par with Heatable but may beat BOXT by a day or 2.
Glow Green also matches Heatable with a 12-year warranty. However, there is a catch which is not well advertised. Glow Green only offers five-year warranties as standard. You can only upgrade to the 12-year extension if you sign up for the Glow Care service. That sets you back £7.99 a month.
In comparison, BOXT and Heatable pass on the whole manufacturer’s warranty to the customer. BOXT offers a 10-year warranty on its premium product, whilst Heatable offers 10-year warranties on “selected” Worcester Bosch models and 12-years on “selected” Viessmann models.
The wording is a marketing ploy to advertise premium products. Models with less reliable parts will have a lower warranty, but you should expect the same length of warranty offered by the manufacturers. That’s still likely to beat Glow Green’s five-year standard in most cases. The brands offered by the leading boiler manufacturers often have a 7-year warranty.
Glow Green does perform well with their customer service. As good as, if not better than its rivals. It’s clear to see their journey term is proactive and helpful in sorting out issues as quickly as possible. The customer service team sends a Find a Reviewer request to locate the history of the installation, service or repair and seek a solution from the management team.
Glow Green is certainly competitively priced. The cash price for the three boiler options they gave us was priced between £2195 and £2550 which includes installation and VAT.
They also offer flexible payment plans which are competitive. Like Heatable, they offer 0% APR finance but don’t say for how long. With Heatable, you get 0% for 4-years “on selected boilers’. BOXT charge 9.9% interest on payment instalments with BOXT, there is a 9.9% interest.
However, it’s not clear which boiler they are offering. Only the brands are shown. The Glow Green set-up is to prompt you to call a sales rep. This is useful if you want to save time researching all the ins and outs of warranties and finance options. Just expect a silver-tongued salesman to convince you to make a purchase. Also, expect the cost to increase because you probably need a better boiler than the selection they advertise in your quote. The details we gave for our quote were for a two-bedroom home with fewer than 10 radiators.
To get a quote, you simply go to the Glow Green website and answer a few simple questions, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms in your home and whether you need a hot water tank. Your fixed-price quote will appear on the screen within 30 seconds and then you can either phone Glow Green right away to discuss your quote or wait for a member of the team to call you and go through the details and arrange a remote or home survey.
When you speak to a Glow Green account manager over the phone, they will not only discuss your quote but also recommend other boilers that suit your needs and budget. Don’t forget, you can save 15% of your quote if you accept within 5 days of receiving it. You can also discuss flexible monthly payment plans if you want to spread the cost of your boiler installation.
Once you accept the fixed-price quote, you can choose an installation date and Glow Green then arrange your installation within a few days.
Boiler Prices Verdict on the Glow Green Boilers: 5/5
With a reasonable range of high-end high-efficiency boilers, you should expect to be able to find the right boiler for your home at a good price. Installation companies appear to be competitively priced and may even cost less than a local supplier. You can find out for yourself by using our free no-obligation get-a-quote feature.
The brands Glow Green work with are some of the best in the market so you should expect to be sold a reliable boiler. That’s not always the case even with the best brands. Some boilers are just badly built so if you get one that has a fault, it’s bad luck.
To its credit, Glow Green is proactive in sorting out issues promptly. If you do have any issues with its customer service personnel, just leave a one-star review on Trustpilot and see how quickly they act then.
In general, it’s clear that Glow Green does make a significant effort to provide a good level of service and care to its customers. Numerous reviews reflect how helpful the staff is and how friendly and efficient the installers are.
All Glow Green engineers are fully qualified and Gas-Safe approved. However, it is clear from customer reviews that some engineers they use are not the most skilled installers.
Because Glow Green is an intermediary, they refer your case to local installers. Therefore, Glow Green can’t vet the engineers themselves and has to rely on the quality of service local installers provide.
What we most like is the fast response. Glow Green has built its reputation on efficiency, and from reading customer reviews can fulfil that promise in most cases.
The boiler models they advertise also promote efficiency. The only fault we can find with Glow Green is the lack of transparency concerning the make and cost of its boiler range.
Whilst you can speak with one of the company’s agents once you receive a quote, you can expect the original quote to go up once you are advised about the boiler you do need. The online questionnaire is not comprehensive enough to determine which is the right boiler for your home.
On a positive note, customers have the option to purchase a new boiler on finance and the quote you agree on is a fixed price which includes installation and VAT. There are no hidden charges.
What we’re not as enamoured about is the five-year standard warranty on boilers that have 10 and 12-year warranties from the manufacturer. Glow Green only offers extended warranties if you sign up for their Glow Care service at £7.99 a month.
All in all, Glow Green can compete with the best boiler companies in the UK so we feel they are worth a 5/5 overall rating. What we would advise is to compare Glow Green quotes with other options. It is possible that you could end up paying more in the long run if you want to extend your warranty or if your boiler develops a fault once the warranty expires.
So, why buy a Glow Green boiler?
Glow Green appears to provide some of the most competitive quotes on a range of high-quality boilers that are suitable for most homes in the UK. This could be an option if you are strapped for cash and want to spend as little as possible on a boiler whilst still getting access to boilers you can rely on for years to come.
The company offers three payment options, including cash purchases, interest-free credit finance packages and interest-bearing pay plans.
Instead of paying upfront for your boiler installation, you can spread the cost with a flexible finance plan. Glow Green’s finance packages start from just £9.99 a month to make it easier for you to pay for your new heating system.
The low-cost finance plans carry a 9.9% APR through Barclays Partner Finance, which again is subject to application, financial circumstances and borrowing history. Interest-bearing payment plans with no deposit required are available on Vaillant and Worcester Bosch boilers, and you can choose 60 or 120-month payment terms to suit your budget and circumstances.
If you’re able to pay more in monthly instalments, you can take advantage of Glow Green’s 0% APR for up to four years.
You can manage the cost of your Glow Green boiler replacement with an interest-free credit finance package through Hitachi or Barclays Partner Finance subject to application, financial circumstances and your borrowing history. Interest-free credit is available on selected Vaillant and Worcester Bosch boilers and can be set up with 12, 24 or 36, 48-month terms.
