Together with Heatable and BOXT, Glow Green is leading the UK boiler installation market. With a simple online process, Glow Green gives you the option of three boilers with a “fully-fitted” price. And the prices are exceptionally competitive. 

Glow Green has certainly teamed up with some of the best boiler brands around so you should expect the boilers they offer to be reliable. However, all the other installation companies offer the same brands. 

Where Glow Green beat the competition is the turnaround speed. Customers can expect installation to take place in as little as 48 hours from the moment you accept the quote. A more realistic timescale is 3 to 5 days which puts them on a par with Heatable but may beat BOXT by a day or 2. 

Glow Green also matches Heatable with a 12-year warranty. However, there is a catch which is not well advertised. Glow Green only offers five-year warranties as standard. You can only upgrade to the 12-year extension if you sign up for the Glow Care service. That sets you back £7.99 a month.

In comparison, BOXT and Heatable pass on the whole manufacturer’s warranty to the customer. BOXT offers a 10-year warranty on its premium product, whilst Heatable offers 10-year warranties on “selected” Worcester Bosch models and 12-years on “selected” Viessmann models.

The wording is a marketing ploy to advertise premium products. Models with less reliable parts will have a lower warranty, but you should expect the same length of warranty offered by the manufacturers. That’s still likely to beat Glow Green’s five-year standard in most cases. The brands offered by the leading boiler manufacturers often have a 7-year warranty.

Glow Green does perform well with their customer service. As good as, if not better than its rivals. It’s clear to see their journey term is proactive and helpful in sorting out issues as quickly as possible. The customer service team sends a Find a Reviewer request to locate the history of the installation, service or repair and seek a solution from the management team.

Glow Green is certainly competitively priced. The cash price for the three boiler options they gave us was priced between £2195 and £2550 which includes installation and VAT. 

They also offer flexible payment plans which are competitive. Like Heatable, they offer 0% APR finance but don’t say for how long. With Heatable, you get 0% for 4-years “on selected boilers’. BOXT charge 9.9% interest on payment instalments with BOXT, there is a 9.9% interest. 

However, it’s not clear which boiler they are offering. Only the brands are shown. The Glow Green set-up is to prompt you to call a sales rep. This is useful if you want to save time researching all the ins and outs of warranties and finance options. Just expect a silver-tongued salesman to convince you to make a purchase. Also, expect the cost to increase because you probably need a better boiler than the selection they advertise in your quote. The details we gave for our quote were for a two-bedroom home with fewer than 10 radiators.

The boiler models they advertise also promote efficiency. The only fault we can find with Glow Green is the lack of transparency concerning the make and cost of its boiler range. 

Whilst you can speak with one of the company’s agents once you receive a quote, you can expect the original quote to go up once you are advised about the boiler you do need. The online questionnaire is not comprehensive enough to determine which is the right boiler for your home.

It is possible that you could end up paying more in the long run if you want to extend your warranty or if your boiler develops a fault once the warranty expires.
